EF lenses have the reputation to work well adapted to R bodies. RF lenses seem to be a bit better and lighter than their adapter RF ciblings, though. On the other hand the 55-250 has an excellent reputation and starts out at F4, as the EF 24-105. So you would not loose much light, compared to the EF.
